In autumn 2006, the Rolling Stones gave two concerts at Beacon Theatre in New York. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts became legends in their own life time. They perform in front of an enthusiastic audience including Bill and Hillary Clinton, and host guest appearances from Christina Aguilera and blues legends Buddy Guy and Jack White.

Martin Scorsese, who has directed documentaries about music and musicians in the past, dedicates this film to rock at its best; he uses the combined talents of some of the best cinematographers, including Albert Maysles.
