Annie Leibovitz: Life Through A Lens
USA, 2006, 90 Min, English, Hebrew Subtitles
The little sister of Annie Leibovitz, Barbara, is a documentary director. She has taken upon herself the difficult task of creating a comprehensive portrait of her sister, who is one of the most significant photographers of her generation.
We enjoy the archive pictures, the stories from home; her father, mother and sisters. We traverse all the significant stages of her work and life, including the war in Sarajevo, the exhilarating meeting with Susan Sontag and their life together until her death from cancer, the children of Leibovitz, who decided to become a mother later on in life – and yet she has already found for herself wonderful, fresh objects to photograph.
