Aqua. The Red River
Spain, 2007, 96 Min, Spanish & Castalan, English and Hebrew Subtitles
A journey along the Llobregat River of Barcelona, by way of the stories of life along its shores, past and present: a gypsy family, a prostitute, a vintner, miners fighting for their rights, the flooding of a town due to the construction of a dam, expropriation of land to expand roads and to build a new runway for the airport.
Using diverse editing styles and thousands of photographic stills, we can feel a longing for the past, the changes of today, and the looming catastrophe about to happen to this living artery, as it looses its soul.
