Tribute to Participant Media - Jimmy Carter - man from plains
USA, 2007, 126 Min, English, Hebrew Subtitles

This film follows President Jimmy Carter''s tour, promoting his controversial book "Palestine - Peace Not Apartheid"; in which he asserts that the Israeli occupation leads to apartheid.
Carter is revealed as someone who feels it is important to fight for the conclusion of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict; to his credit, the historic peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. Despite his advancing years he travels across the USA, signing books for his readers, meeting diverse communities and mostly being interviewed on TV stations; always calm, moderate and restrained, almost as if dealing with a domestic incident between polite neighbors in Alaska.
Or perhaps this is just the impression received when first class is at ones disposal, the sirens of guarded escort vehicles clearing a path through heavy traffic and being the guest at glittery events, treading on thick soft carpets - eliminating superfluous noise.
