This is a dramatic journey, along the routes of the immigrants who cross the scorched desert in search of the American dream. Every year one million people sneak through the border from Mexico, as part of one of the biggest migrations in history. Thousands die on the way. In an apparent attempt to stop the flow, the US is erecting a giant wall along the border. Nitzan Horowitz joins the militia hunting down the immigrants, and the volunteers, who leave water and food along the routes. He meets the smugglers on the Mexican side, and visits the enormous detention camps of the American border guards.

Along the journey, an absurd reality is revealed on both sides of the border, and the real motives behind the cruel immigrant hunt, appear.

The film, "Across Borders", is part of the documentary series "WORLD: The Next Generation", created by Nitzan Horowitz, where he follows key phenomena that will influence the world for the next generation.
