In the days when East and West Germany were divided by the Berlin Wall, Otmar Suitner, the Conductor of the State Opera in East Berlin, was leading a double life, one with his wife in East Berlin, the other one, on Sundays, with his mistress and their son in West Berlin.
Otmar Suitner is 80 and suffering from Parkinson''s disease; his son, the director, tries to get to know him more intimately through the reconstruction of his tempestuous life between two Germanys, the relationships with the two women in his life, and mainly, through his music.
