Autism: The Musical
USA, 2007, 90 Min, English, Hebrew Subtitles
Over six months, five children with varying levels of autism, rehearse for a musical they will be performing; acting, dancing and playing instruments. Next to them, literally, their parents, (mainly mothers), raise them with great love, trying to breakdown the walls surrounding their children in every possible way. All of this while maintaining their dignity and with an unrelenting effort to understand their world.
Eileen Hall is behind the idea and the realization of this musical. It is part of an exciting new project aimed at finding new ways of expression for children with special needs. Hall is the single mother of Neil, an autistic child, who has severe communication problems.
