Since the time Vaclav Havel was elected as President of the Czech Republic in 1993, Pavel Koutecky the film maker, has been following him in various situations –behind the scenes during conversations of state, in a jazz club with President Clinton, in talks with advisors and opponents, next to his late wife''s coffin, or at his second marriage. He shared with him intimate moments without any barriers.

Koutecky, who was killed in an accident, left behind over 100 hours of raw footage. Miroslav Janek edited the material and created a fascinating portrait of the charismatic playwright, and exceptional statesman with great personal charm, who led his nation at a critical point in time.
