Claire, Serge Lalou''s late mother, who passed away seven years ago, left a detailed account of her life in her diary notebooks. Based on it , Serge created a personal and delicate film about how he and his family deal with their loss, revealing Claire''s prominent role in the lives of the family members. Lalou portrays his late mother''s character with a blend of creative cinematographic techniques: super 8mm film, photographs of pages of the notebooks and interviews with family and friends. He even recruits a chef to prepare a meal according to a recipe that he finds in the notebooks. We itness how the process of creating the film binds the family together.
