Through the crumbling garden walls a part which was confiscated by the communists, and the deserted childrens rooms Neumann reconstructs the 20 th Century, just before a significant turn in the houses life occurs when a part of it is being renovated and rented out to non family members. The younger generation, represented by Neumanns cousin finds it hard to accept the detachment from the first floor with its broken windows, but the aunt, born during the 50’s who witnessed her entire world change more than once, comforts him by saying “It can’t get any worst”.
